Slowly, But Surely...

Life is taking over. I'm okay with that. That's how it was before I moved to Pittsburgh. Actually, I LOVE IT! I still can't tell you my big news until MONDAY! Sorry kids. I really thought I'd be able to say something sooner. Don't you worry, though. I'm ITCHING to tell you guys RIGHT NOW so as soon as I'm able, I will RUN to this computer and tell my face off!! Lol.

My mom's in Mississippi right now visiting my grandma ahead of my cousin's wedding. Apparently said cousin is bridezilla and has had every detail of this wedding planned out for 2 years. Wow... I have no such sense of dedication. The older I get, the smaller I want my wedding to be. (This is appalling to Stace.) I don't need to spend exorbitant amounts of money on a wedding. It's one day. You get yourself all worked up about details your guests won't even notice let alone tell everyone, "OMG, did you see the napkins were folded on the LEFT instead of the RIGHT??" Yeah... no. I'm convinced the show, "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" was created to keep me from trying to do my own wedding sans planner. And for that, I say thank you JESUS!!

Another cousin will be 40 in December... and she's pregnant!! My cousins stay giving me hope. Two of the ones with weddings this year are 30 and 29. Thanks and thanks! That means no rush for me! (Please don't think I was just trying to find the next available Mexican chef... although... lol) And now we're havin' kids at 40, too?? We've got forever! Me and chef-o Mexico. I should probably learn a bit more Spanish... So 39-year-old cousin's husband has 3 kids from a previous marriage, boys, 2 boys and a girl with cousin, and now his 7TH!! on the way... wow. They are the cutest, most in love couple ever with their millions of kids... I'm gonna have to pass on creating a tribe, though.

Short work day today, yes!! I have TWO episodes of Top Chef to catch up on today since I haven't had 2 consecutive days off in 2 weeks (including this one). I choose sleep or talking on the phone over tv and even blogging... amazing, right?

I'm always scared of being a father too late in life, like I won't be able to run after my kids or keep them in line or whatever, which I why I'm wookin pa nub in all da wong pwaces at 26.

And yeah, my oven got fixed, so I'm gonna need some quick recipes from you pronto...tryna get my experimentation on.

I want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!! *stomping around like a little kid* okay now that my tantrum is done...I say wait until you're ready...I think it's crazy how people say oh when will it be my turn then rush into something they weren't fully committed to. Plus older lover is wiser more less complicated love!

LOL @ napkins folded to the left. *dies*

Well you know how I feel about that whole wedding/marriage scene, so I'll just stop right thurr. Let's just say, I'd rather have a Brazilian bikini wax.

My mom had me when she was 40. She was still able to chase me with a frying pan...and there was that time when she went leaping into the air like she was Bruce Leroy...

So big news and talks of marriage in the same post. Hmmmm...Hehe.

dej... i know! it's not my fault! small is fab.

Pregnant at 40? That's fab. And amen to it.

I don't really have any desire to get married, but if I were to do so, I couldn't see going into debt just to throw an amazing party. I can't even think of enough people I like to have a huge wedding. I'm thinking grabbing a couple friends, and doing the destination thing more suits me.

More importantly, I think the people at your wedding should be the people who will be like your village; those who will give you sound advice when you're having marital issues, those who will have your and your spouse and your future kids' best interests at heart, those who will actually be involved to some degree in your lives and your marriage and in supporting you. That certainly does not include the secretary from the next department over who got an invite cuz she bought your lunch once when you forgot your wallet at home. A wedding should be a very intimate event, not a circus spectacle.

I know two women who became moms at 40, and they both had adorable, perfect little girls. A close friend gave birth to her son (also perfect and adorable) days after she turned 38. So, no rush. :-)

diva... lol. you're so funny. i'm not too keen on the kids at 40 thing, either. pretty sure i don't even want to be on the last one at 40. her next to youngest is 11... ummm... & thx for the espanol lessono. you didn't teach me that word.

la... really? i think i might have to pass on that one. you did an excellent breakdown on the wedding for someone who doesn't want to get married. fantastic sentiments. a coworker got invited to a waitress's wedding... just some random waitress... what is your problem? she does NOT want to go.

pcd... ACT RIGHT!! someone asked in the comments of the last post when i was gonna tell. don't be a killjoy. i can't imagine i'd be living in your state but you never know. come on down!

diamonds... i haven't seen the last 2 eps so i'm stalking my tv.

red... awww! see! so nice.

What if your husband doesnt want to get married at Hampton? Will you turn into a zilla then?

News tease!!! LOL Can I do more wild speculation? You've discovered that someone close to you is actually an alien?

Pregnant at 40? Goodness, I hardly have the energy at 30.

Amen to a small wedding. My entire wedding cost less than what some women spent on their dress alone. No regrets here! :)

You're killing me with your "not til Monday"!

I'm so with a small wedding.

And completely for a huge, food-filled reception.

"No, I don't want to dance with you!! I want some more etouffee!!!"

bkaka... lol. i was like huh? who dis? lol. i'm watching it now!! i see they're abt to get their female winner...

rj... men don't care abt location. bridezilla is abt more than locale anyway. i love your speculation. it cracks me up. an alien, huh? i was watching MIB the other day and thinking i'm sure i know some folk who fit into that category: janitors, guards and at least 2 of my coworkers.

tan... sorry!! it's not my fault!!

sandy... girl i know! less than the cost of dress? love it! i so need that! i'm sorry!!!

v... i figured you would be. lmao @ no dancing! too funny. boot food? I'M THERE!!

chef-o mexico...?

i'm telling every mexican i know abt your insulting grammar.

now you know there are going to be people like me who remember EVERY SINGLE DETAIL to run back and tell someone... remember the wedding i went to where they had fake flowers that had glue "dew" drops on the petals and faux velvet bows and crepe decorations?

yeah.
